Before you book an appointment, read this
“Is the person who consults with me also the person who treats me?” “I’ve visited several places, but I still don’t know what makes a good clinic.”
These are the two things I hear most often in a first consultation. I am Dr. Park Hyungkwon, dermatologist and director of LUNN Clinic in Cheongdam.
Let me begin with our disadvantages. LUNN is small. With just one doctor, the number of people we can see each day is limited, and your preferred date may not be available. We do not have a large number of devices either. If you come expecting scale, you may be disappointed.
In return, I personally see you through consultation, treatment, and aftercare. I will not claim this is the one right way. It is simply the only way I can take responsibility.

Consultation and diagnosis. I conduct the first consultation myself. I look beyond the skin: I first listen to your lifestyle, previous procedures, and the direction you want to take. You may ask, “Isn’t consultation just sales?” My answer is that consultation at LUNN is diagnosis. We do not start with a procedure already chosen. We discuss treatment only after diagnosis. The moment that order is reversed, care becomes selling.

Treatment planning and estimate. After diagnosis, I propose the combination of devices and procedures, intensity, and number of sessions designed for you as an individual. LUNN has invested in more than 20 globally standard devices, including Ultherapy, Thermage FLX, Sofwave, ONDA, and PicoWay. A range of devices is not a boast; it means there is no reason to force an unsuitable device on a patient. We also follow one principle: if I judge it unnecessary, I do not recommend it. Some people leave after consultation alone. I do not consider those consultations failures.

Treatment. I perform the procedure myself, at exactly the intensity and extent planned. This is how I have worked through more than 10,000 procedures. Some patients worry, “What if I’m suddenly encouraged to add another treatment that day?” That does not happen at LUNN. Treatment stays within the plan, and the plan changes only in the consultation room.

Aftercare. Immediately afterward, you receive soothing care in a private treatment space. At each subsequent session I personally check progress and adjust the next stage’s intensity and interval. Results and recovery speed vary with skin condition and lifestyle, and temporary reactions such as redness or swelling may occur. Following progress is therefore part of the plan, not a step we can omit.

What LUNN cannot offer
It is better to be frank.
First, we cannot offer rapid turnover. Giving each person enough time limits the number of patients we see per day. Your preferred date may not be available, and you may have to wait. I am sorry about that, but eliminating the wait would mean shortening consultation time, and I will not do that.
Second, we do not suggest spontaneous add-on procedures that day. “While you’re here, let’s do this too” is not part of LUNN. For someone wanting the convenience of several treatments at once, this approach may feel frustrating.
Third, we cannot say “yes” to every request. If diagnosis indicates it is unnecessary or the timing is wrong, I will tell you so.
If these three points feel inconvenient, LUNN may not be the right clinic for you. If instead you think this approach is only natural, I will respond with care that meets that expectation.
Closing thoughts
Attending to detail and bringing everything into harmony: this is LUNN’s approach to skin. Rather than following treatment trends, we start with the person and seek answers suited to each face through proven equipment and deep expertise. Instead of dazzling promises, I offer precise planning and hands that remain responsible to the end.
This letter is intended to offer criteria for judgment, rather than an advertisement. If you are comparing clinics around Apgujeong Rodeo, whichever you choose, I encourage you to ask today’s questions: Does the doctor who consults also treat? Does planning come before selling? Who checks your progress?
Please raise your questions directly in consultation. I look forward to meeting you there.
Dr. Park Hyungkwon, Director of LUNN Clinic, Cheongdam
It does not have to be LUNN. Wherever you go, please ask whether the person who consults also treats, and why this particular treatment is being recommended today. A place that can answer clearly is a good clinic.
